Nowadays, when there are hundreds of wireless earbuds, choosing between them can become confusing and overwhelming. We will discuss the best earbuds in each category and help you decide between them.
What makes good earbuds
When choosing earbuds, there are certain criteria that we need to look for
the sound experience.
We would want them to have good sound quality. They should also have good bass, the noise cancellation should be strong, and the transparency mode should be unnoticeable.
the design
it should be small and discreet, compact to make it easy to travel, have smart controls on the earbuds, and have sweat and water resistance.
the experience
they should have long battery life, intelligent software to customize the sound, and a strong Bluetooth connectivity.
best overall
The best overall category is for perfect earbuds. There are many great earbuds out there, but there are two that outshine all of them. And they are the Sony wf1000xm4 and the Bose QuietComfort 2 the sony wf1000xm4
this year (2023), the Sonys are now officially two years old, and we are awaiting the XM5s, but disregarding that, they are still highly capable earbuds. Their sound quality is impeccable, and the base can be very heavy, but it is customizable. They have a sleek and compact design, being rivaled only by the AirPods.
Also, their noise canceling is one of the best, being outclassed only by the more recent Bose quiet comforts two and with an excellent transparency mode, a bunch of intelligent features combined with an IPX4 sweat and water resistance rating, and the fact that they never fall out of your ears I can personally say from my experience of having them that they are an all-purpose earbud that you can take anywhere and do anything with while having an excellent sound experience while doing so
the Bose QuietComfort 2
the Bose QuietComfort 2 came out in September 2022. They are the best noise-canceling earbuds out there, and they have 6 hours of battery life on one charge. their base is quite good, and their software is quite good
Their sound quality is good, but it could be better, and they do have IPX4 sweat and water resistance, but their design is less good than Sony’s wf-1000xm4. It is bulkier, more noticeable, and harder to travel with, so to summarize, both or great earbuds. The Sony’s are $270 and shine in travel and workout, while the Bose are 300$ and are great for everyday use.
best for iPhone
The best for iPhone category is about the connectivity features of the earbuds with iPhones and how will the software works with iPhones and It comes as no surprise that the Airpods are the best for iPhones.and the best Airpods are the Airpods Pro 2, so Let me tell you why
they’re incredibly compact, allowing you to take them anywhere; their transparency mode is the best in the market. The sound Clarity is good, but the base is relatively low the H2 chip makes them incredibly smart and intelligent earbuds, and the Apple ecosystem makes them extraordinarily easy to use with multiple devices simultaneously. Still, at $250, there is a setback: the connectivity. It only works well on the iPhone, so if you have any other devices that you will want to use earbuds with, you might want to look into the Beats Studio Plus at a much more reasonable 170$
Pros
- transparency mode
- portable design
- connectivity features
Cons
- Apple ecosystem exclusivity
- base
best mid-Ranger
There are many mid-angers, one of the more popular ones being the Samsung Galaxy Pro 2 but one of my favorites, and the winner of this category, is the Sony LinkBuds S, introduced on May 9th, 2022. Their sleek and modern design combined with Sony’s smart features and noise canceling also, for the price, the sound quality is good, and the base can be heavy plus, a combined 26 hours of battery life makes them quite attractive for anyone that wants the premium experience without paying premium prices
best for workouts
When you’re working out, the most important factors are the comfort being sweatproof and, of course, not falling out.
And That’s precisely what the Beats Fit Pro do, and in addition to that, they have an 18-hour battery life with the case and 6 hours without—allowing them to last throughout most workouts. The noise canceling is okay, and their transparency mode is impressive for the price. The bass is heavy, but the sound quality is a bit lacking. And because of those reasons, they are the perfect choice for workouts.
best for Android
The best for Android category is less about the quality of the earbuds and more about the connectivity features that it possesses. In this category, there’s only one winner, the Samsung Galaxy Pro 2 (because of a lack of competitors). Don’t be mistaken. It is an excellent earbud for its price. It even was the runner-up for best mid-ranger. It has excellent connectivity with Android phones. It has a comparatively compact case, but the design could be better. The sound quality is good, but the base could be better. Overall great earbuds by themselves are made even better by the connectivity features to Android phones and Samsung phones.
best for driving
In many places around the world, driving with earbuds is illegal or restricted that’s why bone conduction earbuds are the best for driving because they do not go inside your ear and seale them from outside noise. They stay outside your ears and make the sound travel into your ear threw your bones, and the best one is the SHOKZ OpenRun Pro. The sound quality is less good than if you have it inside your ear, and it feels like a speaker right next to your ear. But for driving purposes, it is excellent.
best for sleep
Many of us like to listen to music while sleeping. Still, many earbuds fall out or are just uncomfortable to lie down with, so we found the best one, and it is the Anker Soundcore with the most comfortable and small design ever, ensuring 0 discomfort. It also comes with sleep tracking and an eight-hour battery life with noise canceling turned on, and it can also play white noise, providing a better night’s sleep. at a not-so-high price of only $130
